Set of 11 AMAZING Antique wooden foundry molds from Meese & Gottfried Co. in San Francisco. RARE early 20th-century industrial artifacts, typically pre-dating their 1923 acquisition by Link-Belt. These unique, often handmade wood patterns were used for sand-casting gears, sprockets, and machinery parts, featuring distinct patina, structural lines, and sometimes original, worn paint. Each retains hand-painted markings.
Meese and Gottfried Co. which was headquartered in San Francisco California and was a prominent maker of transmission, elevating and conveying machinery until they were acquired by Link Belt in 1923. A 1916 catalog shows pictures of their machine shop and pattern shop of their 19th and Harrison Street location.
