Francisco Franco is a Spanish born modern artist. He is a self-taught painter of the abstract expressionist movement. His eclectic style is inspired by Yves Klein, Jason Martin, Franz Kleine, Richard Serra and Cy Twombly, to name a few. Franco has lived in Argentina and Brazil and worked extensively in both countries.
His passion for color, texture and mixed-media has generated a cornucopia of art pieces that evoke an equally passionate response. He works with oils, acrylics, brass, metals, found objects and diverse pigmentations to create his unique style.
He is best known for his series of Yves Klein Bleu variations. Franco’s works can be found in the collections of art-lovers around the world.
His flair and admiration for far-flung destinations has been a staple of his life since childhood. He would continue to seek out travel opportunities throughout his young-adult years. These eye-opening experiences imbued him with an appreciation for tropical landscapes that would influence his unique style and artwork.
He has worked a great many commissioned pieces for private collections, among them, the Neiman Marcus Art Collection, as well as high end fashion boutiques in Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Rio and Sao Paulo.
Gustavo Olivieri Antiques has been an ardent patron of Franco for many years.
